Drilling

Drilling at Gosling Czubak

Gosling Czubak owns and operates both truck and ATV-mounted soil boring and well installation drill rigs, providing a full range of environmental and geotechnical drilling services. Our drilling experience includes projects in lake and river beds using our rigs on barges, and our crews have accessed difficult sites with specialized rigs.

  • Environmental Drilling

Subsurface investigations require the highest level of quality during data collection to ensure decisions are based on the most accurate definition of site characteristics. We provide soil/groundwater sampling through various techniques, including temporary monitor wells and casing pull-back methods for vertical aquifer profiling.

  • Geotechnical Drilling

Gosling Czubak uses conventional drilling and sampling techniques including hollow stem augers, wash rotary, and rock coring to thoroughly evaluate soil, rock, and groundwater conditions on each site. Based on the findings, geotechnical engineers assess the impact of subsurface conditions on new and existing buildings and structures.

Torch Lake Bathymetric Survey

Working with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Gosling Czubak completed a bathymetric survey of Torch Lake to assist in determining the feasibility of a new boat access site (BAS) on the west side of the lake.

Environmental Consulting

Gosling Czubak provided permitting and compliance services to various mining operations throughout the State of Michigan.

Groundwater Modeling

Gosling Czubak conducted a remedial investigation at a crude oil central production facility. Soil and groundwater were investigated to identify and characterize potential sources of contamination.

Air Stripping Remediation System

Petroleum releases from an oil and gas central production facility in Otsego County, MI impacted soil and groundwater at the site.

Great Lakes Center for the Arts

Gosling Czubak performed the Geotechnical Evaluation of the proposed building site and provided foundation recommendations to deal with the site’s mining history.

Golf Course Acquisition Assessment

Gosling Czubak provided a Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA).  The Phase I ESA reveled evidence of recognized environmental conditions (REC) associated with the subject property.

Mini Mart LUST Investigation/ Remediation

The UST excavation was dewatered as part of removal and new tank installation activities. Contaminated groundwater was treated with a two-stage granular activated carbon system with the treated water discharged, under an NPDES permit, to the Elk River.

Marion Mini Mart LUST

During site upgrades an abandoned leaking underground storage tank was discovered.  Gosling Czubak conducted an initial and final assessment to determine the extent of soil and groundwater contamination.
