River's Edge
Traverse Cty, MI
Gosling Czubak provided concrete testing for a three-story office building in Traverse City. The building's urban location required construction of H-pile and timber lagging earth retention to support adjacent buildings and the use of a tower crane. A large reinforced concrete mat foundation was constructed to support the tower crane and the some of the buildings columns. Floors in the building are cast-in-place concrete on metal decking.
Gosling Czubak provided quality control testing for the reinforced concrete throughout the project's construction. Slump and unit weight tests were used to monitor concrete consistency and to verify the mix designs. Air entrainment testing was used to determine concrete durability and cylinders were molded and tested to determine compressive strength. We also provided foundation and backfill soil testing for the project.
