McKeese Road

Leelanau County, MI

Gosling Czubak provided design and construction engineering services for this BIA funded road improvement project. The project included crushing and shaping the existing roadway and installing storm sewer to eliminate the direct discharge in to Belanger’s Creek. In addition, twin culverts for Belanger’s Creek were replaced with a single 19’x12’ structural plate arch culvert that was designed by NRCS and coordinated into the project. 

The culvert replacement necessitated the relocation of the existing sanitary sewer and water mains. As these utilities did not have alternate supplies, they needed to be kept in service throughout the project. This was accomplished by directionally drilling replacement lines below the creek and live tapping the existing lines for uninterrupted service.

Wastewater Treatment Plant

Gosling Czubak completed design of a new 582,000 gallon per day extended aeration mechanical plant/lagoon hybrid process wastewater treatment plant for the Village of Elk Rapids in Antrim County.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Addition

The project consists of the construction of a new 50,000 gallon concrete surge tank, housed in a two- story building addition. The surge tank is designed to assist the existing WWTP with flows coming from a new hotel and restaurant development.

Water System Improvements

Gosling Czubak provided design and permitting services for a new 450 GPM water supply well, a 500,000 gallon ground storage reservoir and 11,000 feet of 16" water main to connect the new reservoir to the water system in the Township.

Three Mile Road

The improvements included widening to five lanes, intersection improvements, creation of a median and use of storm water best management practices.
