Edward C. Grace Memorial Harbor

Elk Rapids, MI

The Village of Elk Rapids acquired a vacant building on Elk River to improve public use of its upper harbor waterfront and provide additional docking space. Gosling Czubak prepared specifications for the building's removal and designed the new docks and upland facilities, including water and electrical services. The completed facility added about 20 new, fully-equipped boat slips and increased annual revenue for the Village-owned marina.

Additional projects for the Elk Rapids Marina include an extension to the marina boat launch ramp at the lower harbor to accommodate low water levels in Grand Traverse Bay, as well as hydrographic surveying of the lower harbor and sediment sampling in preparation for dredging. Floating docks in the upper harbor were also designed for short-term mooring.
