Asset Acquisition Environmental Assessment

Enerplus (USA) is a Calgary, Alberta based oil and natural gas producer with its United States headquarters in Denver, Colorado.  Enerplus was interested in  acquiring natural gas mineral interests in 540,000 acres of land in the Marcellus shale region of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Enerplus retained the services of Gosling Czubak to complete environmental assessments at 27 existing well sites.  The assessments had to be completed within three weeks to meet the acquisition schedule.  The work determined if there were previous activities that created obvious environmental regulation violations and liability for Enerplus. 

To meet the project schedule, Gosling Czubak provided daily summary of findings at each well site as the work proceeded.  The rapid turnaround of the work allowed the asset transfer to occur on schedule.
