New Boardwalk Complete at Grass River Natural Area

Grass River Natural Area held a ribbon cutting on Thursday, August 23, 2018, to celebrate the completion of the Tamarack Loop boardwalk. Representatives from Gosling Czubak, RCI, Wickcraft Boardwalks, GRNA, Antrim County, and various board members and donors attended.

The boardwalk replacement is the first phase of the eventual replacement of GRNA's entire existing 1.5 mile boardwalk system, which is over 30 years old. The system will be replaced with ADA compliant long-lasting material, which will require minimal maintenance across its lifetime. Ultimate benefits will include increased safety, better stream flow and fish passage, and improved accessibility for all ages and abilities to engage with nature.

Gosling Czubak worked closely with GRNA, as well as contractors RCI, Inc and Wickcraft Boardwalks to design and install the new boardwalk within the existing footprint. Construction was complete in August 2018.
