The Legacy Release Program
The Legacy Release Program allows eligible refined petroleum underground storage tank owners or operators to be reimbursed up to $50,000 for 50% of eligible costs for corrective action and/or indemnification costs incurred on or after December 30, 2014, in response to confirmed releases that were discovered and reported prior to December 30, 2014.
Eligible Claims
The following requirements must be met:
- A claim may only be filed by an owner/operator of a refined petroleum UST system who owned or operated the system at the time of the reporting of the release.
- The release from which the corrective actions or indemnification arose were discovered and reported prior to December 30, 2014.
- The UST systems(s) is/are presently in compliance with the registration requirements of Part 211, even if the current owner/operator is not the claimant.
- The owner/operator is not the United States Government.
